Our Clover Foundation volunteer team helped Feed My Starving Children with packing many pouches of food for children around the world facing food insecurity. Feed My Starving Children is a Christian non-profit that provides prepackaged pouches of food for children and families to ensure they don't have to worry about their next meal. They rely on donations to pay for the food and volunteers to help portion the food. They then deliver them to schools, hospitals, orphanages, and many more places worldwide.
Today, Clover Foundation team along with many other volunteers visited Feed My Starving Children and helped them portion pouches consisting of rice, soy, vitamins, and vegetables. To prepare for it, we watched a presentation and washed our hands thoroughly, wore hairnets and gloves to ensure the safety of the food. To create the the pouches, we had three people portion two large scoops of rice and soy and two small scoops of vitamins and vegetables into a funnel that pours into bags held by other volunteers. After portioning, the bags are weighed on a scale to be between 275 to 295 grams and then sealed to be packaged into boxes of 36 pouches each.
In total, Clover Foundation packaged a total of an estimated 7 boxes, for a total of 252 pouches and we are excited to come back and assisting and helping them more in the future.
