As a total of 10 volunteers, we went to Open Arms, a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medically tailored meals for individuals with life-threatening diseases. Open Arms' mission is to deliver customized meals designed for people suffering from terminal illnesses, as well as their caregivers and families, ensuring they receive nutritious and comforting meals that meet their specific dietary needs.
Their dedicated team of employees made sure we were happy and our time spent there was meaningful. Over the 2 hours we were there, we packed granola balls into a milk crate, candied ginger into a care package for people with nausea, and rolled slices of turkey and frozen fish onto a tray for later use in other meals. We also put together over 300 ready-to-eat breakfast packages consisting of a burger patty, blueberry french toast, and a vegetable bake that were sealed together in a tray with individual slots for each food.
In total, we anssisted Open Arms with preparing over 300 portions of each food and enjoyed providing our community with many delicious yet nutritious meals. We look forward to continuing our support of this meaningful nonprofit in the future.
